My favourite Vestibular Amazon Products!
Published about 1 year ago • 3 min read
Hi Reader, Amazon Prime Big Deal Days are here, so let's chat about some of the best vestibular products on Amazon, and currently part of their Prime Big Deal!
These are becoming my favourite earplug option for so many reasons. First, they have a lot of sound dampening options, and specifically have an option for noise filtering which a lot of my patients find really helpful. Second, they are COMFORTABLE! I hate wearing earplugs but these I don't hate, and that's saying a lot!
We have three balance systems: vision, vestibular and proprioception. When we are working on vestibular rehabilitation, it can be helpful to challenge each of these systems specifically to get a full recovery. Balance pads come in handy when working on our proprioception. It can later help us feel more stable when we are on uneven surfaces such as grass, sand, or gravel. You can use it by standing on it with feet together, closing your eyes, or my favourite, marching on the spot! This can be a more advanced exercise, so be sure to talk to a vestibular physiotherapist before using it.
If your dizziness is due to vestibular migraines, headaches and head/sinus pressure may be a significant symptom you are struggling with. A migraine relief cap can be kept in the freezer and then used to provide a cooling effect to the head during an attack. I also really like it as I find many people have a positive response to the compression sensation around their head, which can help when feeling floaty and disconnected.
If you struggle with dizziness when turning your head, odds are, checking your blink spot in the car is terrifying. The last thing we want is to feel unsteady, dizzy, and unsafe while driving. Although I encourage you to work on this movement in a safe environment, reducing it while driving may allow you to feel more comfortable on the road. Blind Spot mirrors do just that - they allow you to see your blindspot without having to turn your head. Game changer!

Weighted Lap Blanket
Weighted blankets of any size can help you feel more grounded, settle dizziness and help to regulate your nervous system. I love this smaller lap version though as its easy to move around, but also beautiful!

Sunrise Alarm Clock
If you wake up feeling groggy or notice your dizziness is worse in the mornings, your sleep-wake rhythm might be out of sync. A sunrise alarm clock can help! It gradually brightens your room before your alarm goes off, mimicking a natural sunrise. This gentle light helps reset your body’s internal clock, making it easier to wake up feeling alert and steady. When your circadian rhythm is in balance, your sleep quality, energy, and even your sense of balance can all improve—helping calm that dizzy feeling and set you up for a smoother day.
